How to Break Into The Entertainment Industry (Or ANY Industry) Immediately

Personally, I’m a marketing guy. And I’m lazy. Sure, I work 18 hours a day. But that’s only because I really am too lazy to work 90 hour long days. So out of sheer necessity, I’m constantly looking for reach and penetration multipliers.

If I takes me 90 hours to reach one decision maker by networking and attempting to make contact through the front door, I’d rather just reach the same decision maker or his better in 30 minutes. Most smart people try to reach their audience or decision maker via a side door. For example, my personal email is not online anywhere. So one Ford model woman contacted me via the email address embedded in my paypal buy now buttons. She figured that I’d pay more attention to emails that tickle my bank account. She was right. She got my attention. But, she did so in an annoying way.

In my case, for one of my clients, I am reaching out to the wealthiest demographic with 100% natural medicine. So instead of using noisy print or online advertisements, I’m breaking into the indy art, culture, film world for them. My bet is that if all the top hipster artists, musicians and Sundance Film Festival Official Selection directors and producers used my clients products, the cache would build, the products would get the attention they deserve, and the correct demographic demand more.

So here’s the punch line: How do I get the attention of these Indy art and culture leaders? Further, how do I get the attention of their followers? THIS is what I built, A cozy warm vip room for 2010 Sundance Film Festival Official Selections … Basically, instead of venturing out into the cold ferocious competitive world of trying to reach my audience of key decision makers and influencers, I’d rather just spend a fraction of time build a place that THEY would enjoy COMING to.

UPDATE: Basically, how this brings the people I am targeting to me, is that when anyone googles “sundance attendee directory” or any of the names of the directors and producers and even actors, a Plurban.com page with whatever messaging I want to include will float to the top of Google. Admit it, you’ve google your own name recently! =)
